Howard Schachter was initially licensed to practice in the financial services industry in 1977. His initial professional career, however, was launched as an entrepreneur who built, owned, operated, and sold various successful businesses over eighteen years. In 1999, Howard decided to launch his financial planning practice and, since that time, has established a meaningful company serving families, business owners, and executives alike. His unique path into practice and commitmentt for to accurate financial advisement allows him to deliver professional insight and objectivity to those he serves. He prides himself on the integrated approach. His advice encompasses every aspect of client lives, fromclientment planning to estate objectives. Howard specializes in working with small business owners and their families, as their unique financial challenges are ones he knows well and has the drive to resolve. He can provide the full range of financial advisement services available today, including retirement, business succession, estate, investment, and medicare.
Howard also believes in the importance of continuing education and has earned numerous professional designations within the industry. He holds a Certificate in Financial Planning from Quinnipiac University and earned his Certified Financial Manager (CFM) designation while working at Merrill Lynch. Additional assignments held by Howard include Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®), and Certified Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS™).
Howard embraces the community where he lives and works and has served in multiple leadership roles for civic organizations across the Orange, Connecticut, area where he resides. He served as the Pack Committee Chairman for Turkey HSchool'sol's Cub Scouts, the Centennial President of the Orange Rotary Club, and on the board of directors of the Middletown CT Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow. He is a past Board Member of Marrakech, Inc. and the Amity Regional School District. He is also a past President of The Probus Club of West Haven, Orange, & Milford and was previously the Republican Town Chairman in Orange, CT. As a small business owner, Howard has owned and operated various companies, including a parking management firm and a medical equipment company.
Howard earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing with a certificate to teach and an MBA in finance from Central Connecticut University. He was the first in Connecticut to receive a certificate to teach Marketing and Distributive Education. He is a 25+ year resident of Orange, Connecticut, and resides there with his wife and son.
