Mike’s journey in financial planning started when he and his first wife, Deborah, worked with an advisor and built a financial plan in 2005. Three years later, during the 2008 financial crisis, Mike lost Deborah to breast cancer, but the income plan they built weathered the financial crisis. Realizing the peace of mind that came from having a plan, Mike became a licensed financial planner in 2015.
Since then, Mike has helped hundreds of individuals and families live the retirement they’ve always dreamed of. He’s passionate about building your financial plan that can take advantage of market growth while protecting that growth during market downturns. Working with Mike in building your comprehensive plan includes planning for lifetime income, reducing taxes, investment strategies and options, business succession planning, estate planning, charitable giving, and exploring solutions for your long-term care needs.
As a widower himself, Mike takes great care and compassion to ensure the surviving spouse has a financial plan in place for the rest of their life.
Mike shares his knowledge through television, radio, periodicals and presentations given through church and community groups, non-profits, businesses and more. He also builds advisory boards for for-profit and non-profit companies, helping firms mature their business or expand services to those in the community. He also teaches early morning scripture study classes to Freshmen & Sophomores at Cherry Creek High School.
Mike is a Colorado Notary Public and is an Independent Investment Advisor Representative with a Series 65 securities license. Mike also holds a Colorado Life and Health Insurance license, and is a member of the National Ethics Association.
He and his wife Amy are the parents of five children and have one granddaughter. When not changing people’s lives through his financial planning work, Mike enjoys reading, golf, family time and the outdoors, often remarking that even as a native Coloradan, he’s still discovering Colorado. #GoBroncos
