As co-founders of Mobile Bay Financial Solutions, John McNeil and Virginia O’Brien are dedicated to helping clients build retirement plans that reflect their lifelong dreams. With deep roots in the Mobile community, they continue a legacy of financial expertise that has spanned over 100 years.
John has been with Mobile Bay since 1979, working alongside his father and brother to serve clients with personalized financial guidance. Virginia, the fourth generation of the family business, officially joined in 2012 after gaining experience in the corporate insurance industry. She fell in love with financial advising at an early age while helping her father around the office during summers.
Both are University of Alabama graduates—John with a finance degree and Virginia with a degree in Consumer Sciences, specializing in Family Financial Planning. Virginia has been recognized as one of ThinkAdvisor.com’s 30 Under 30 Advisors and Mobile Bay Monthly’s 40 Under 40.
John and Virginia were born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. John and his wife, Martha, have three children and seven grandchildren, while Virginia and her husband, Grey, have two children. Outside of work, John enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, and cooking, while Virginia loves traveling with her family, cheering on her kids at the ballfields, playing tennis, and cooking gourmet meals with Grey.
