Avram Kogen has been living in Bergen County since 1987. His three kids, all post-college, work in three different spheres: nonprofit, for-profit, and government. He is pleased and proud that each of them has found an area in which to make an important contribution.
Before venturing into the financial world, Avram had a teaching background, complete with an M.A. in Curriculum and Teaching. He has always enjoyed helping students take complicated concepts and break them down into simpler elements that they can readily understand. In his financial work, he has done a great deal of studying to master the complexities of items that might be helpful to families and individuals, earning three professional designations: CLTC, ChFC, and CLU.
The first of these is a Certification in Long Term Care—an important credential, as we all hope to grow old and might as well be prepared for our later years. The second is a Chartered Financial Consultant, which enables him to help people choose prudent ways to save and invest. The third is a Chartered Life Underwriter, making him fluent in the various types of life insurance that people might need to sort out.
Avram is keenly aware that the financial world is not a “one size fits all” proposition. Just as he relates to his three kids as unique individuals, he enjoys helping those who seek his assistance to identify what products, if any, might be helpful in addressing their particular financial and personal concerns as their lives unfold. Avram derives great satisfaction from helping people find ways to fund education for family members, afford suitable housing, or develop secure plans for retirement.
