I have a diverse background in health and financial services. I have been a Registered Nurse for almost 40 years who has founded, owned, and operated several businesses. These businesses range from health care and hospitality to insurance and consulting. I serve on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards.
I obtained my Doctorate degree (EdD) in Higher Education Leadership with a major in Organizational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University in 2011. Subsequently, I acquired my Master’s in Health Services Administration (MSA) from Central Michigan University in 1998. In 1984, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Virginia Commonwealth University and became licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1984.. I am board certified in Occupational Health Nursing and Case Management (COHN-S/CM) and was honored as a Fellow of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (FAAOHN). In financial services, I am licensed by the bureau of insurance as a Life, Health and Annuities producer in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
