Graham Williams was born in Toronto, Canada and moved to the United States to study Engineering at Penn State University. Upon graduation, Graham served for four years as an aircraft maintenance officer in the United State Marines. After an honorable discharge, Graham completed an MBA through Pepperdine University while working for IBM.
In 1994, Graham changed careers from Information Technology to Finance by beginning his career as a financial planner. After a brief tenure with a national financial services firm, Graham joined an independent firm and began teaching financial planning to the public through community colleges and onsite at employers including CenturyLink and the City of Seattle. Graham also served as an adjunct professor of finance for City University in Seattle, teaching the Certified Financial Planner curriculum at Merrill Lynch.
In 2002, Graham and his business partner launched their own firm. Today, the firm is an independent SEC registered investment advisory with offices in Bellevue, Washington and Scottsdale, Arizona. Graham’s focus has always been retirement – how to create income, manage risk and ensure financial longevity. In 2016, Graham published “The New Retirement Income Portfolio – A guide for Today’s Self-Funded Retirement” to provide his own view of best practices in the field. Graham also appears regularly on the Phoenix affiliates of ABC and CBS as a guest presenter on tax, investing and retirement news.
With life expectancies growing and employer pensions a thing of the past, Graham believes that retirement planning is an essential task for all working Americans. His approach incorporates investment, tax and risk management practices with an optimistic view of the future that transcends current events and the barrage of negative news that can cloud investors long-term judgement.
Graham now resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and two sons. He has been active in the community as a volunteer, club member and board member for valley charities. Outside the office, Graham will be found on the golf course and traveling to secluded fishing spots all over our great state.
