John was born and raised in greater Cincinnati and resides in West Chester, Ohio. He earned his MBA with an emphasis in Finance, as well as undergraduate degrees in the Physical and Social Sciences from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
John spent ten years managing sales for public and private companies prior to serving as a Personal Financial Consultant for the past 20+ years. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and holds numerous state securities and insurance licenses. He has also earned the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP), a post graduate degree combining advanced studies in Estate and Charitable Planning, as well as that of Investment Advisor Fiduciary (IAF). John earned the National Social Security Advisor certificate from the National Social Security Association. The NSSA certificate promotes advanced Social Security education providing VanWeelden with the knowledge to counsel clients on the best way to claim Social Security benefits in order to optimize lifetime Social Security income.
John actively serves the community as an ordained chaplain in good standing with the International Fellowship of Chaplains, serves as Board Chairman for Cincinnati Christian Schools and is a West Chester Citizens Police Academy Alumnus.
John loves to teach and is grateful for the opportunity to do so as a part of the AFEA network of instructors!
