AFEA Welcomes New Chapter President


 West Chester, OH October 15, 2015- The American Financial Education Alliance, a national advocate for greater financial literacy, announced today that its Board of Directors unanimously voted to name John VanWeelden as the new Chapter President of AFEA’s West Chester, OH Chapter.

Bringing 15 years of experience to the Chapter, John earned his MBA with an emphasis in Finance, as well as undergraduate degrees in Physical and Social Sciences, from Miami University, Oxford. John has achieved the designation of Investment Advisor Fiduciary. John has ten years of management experience with public and privately owned companies prior to spending the last fifteen years as a personal finance consultant. John has also earned the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, a post graduate degree combining advanced studies in Estate and Charitable Planning. John actively serves the community as an ordained chaplain in good standing with the International Fellowship of Chaplains, serves as a Board Member for Cincinnati Christian Schools and is a West Chester Citizens Police Academy Alumnus.

 AFEA is thrilled to have John join us in our mission to empower Americans to take control of their finances by providing educational classes and workshops in communities nationwide.

As Chapter President, John will be hosting free financial education workshops throughout the community. The West Chester Chapter will also be fundraising to support other local charities including The Society for Financial Awareness. Fifteen percent of all funds raised by AFEA will be donated to local charities with similar missions and causes within the chapter area.
