AFEA Welcomes New Chapter President

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

Alpharetta, GA, May 13, 2016- The American Financial Education Alliance, a national advocate for greater financial literacy, announced today that its Board of Directors unanimously voted to name Thomas Lowry as the new Chapter President of AFEA’s Alpharetta Chapter.

 

Bringing 27+ years of experience to the Chapter, Tom is a Registered Financial Consultant and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor. He is also a Multi -Year recipient  of The 5 Star Wealth Management Award by Atlanta Magazine. Tom hosts a Sunday radio program on retirement, and has also written a book "Prescription for a Happy Retirement". Started The Lowry Family Foundation after the death of my parents. Served as Honorary Board Member of the Special Olympics of Georgia. Currently working with Gradient Gives Back, a 501c3, to provide a year's worth of mortgage or rent payments to a family in need. Thomas is excited about using AFEA to give back to his local community.

 

AFEA is thrilled to have Tom join us in our mission to empower Americans to take control of their finances by providing educational classes and workshops in communities nationwide.

 

As Chapter President, Tom will be hosting free financial education workshops throughout the Alpharetta community. The Alpharetta Chapter will also be fundraising to support other local charities. Fifteen percent of all funds raised by AFEA will be donated to local charities with similar missions and causes within the chapter area. Tom has nominated The Special Olympics of Georgia to receive all 15% of the funds raised. The Special Olympics is a global organization that serves athletes with intellectual disabilities working with hundreds of thousands of volunteers.
