Dallas, TX, April 29, 2016 - The American Financial Education Alliance, a national advocate for greater financial literacy, announced today that its Board of Directors unanimously voted to name Michael Lumby as the new Chapter President of AFEA’s Dallas Chapter.
Bringing 50+ years of experience to the Chapter, Mike graduated from Southern Methodist University with his Bachelors in Business Administration. Mike has applied his experience by volunteering as an AARP instructor for 4 years. Mike is excited about using AFEA to give back to his local community.
AFEA is thrilled to have Mike join us in our mission to empower Americans to take control of their finances by providing educational classes and workshops in communities nationwide.
As Chapter President, Mike will be hosting free financial education workshops throughout the Dallas community. The Dallas Chapter will also be fundraising to support other local charities. Fifteen percent of all funds raised by AFEA will be donated to local charities with similar missions and causes within the chapter area. Mike has nominated SPCA to receive all 15% of the funds raised. The SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is dedicated to preventing cruelty towards animals.
